General
  • Payment details must be submitted with registration.
  • A separate registration must be submitted for each delegate; sharing registrations is not permitted.
  • Delegates must wear the correct lanyard at all times; sharing lanyards is not permitted.
  • Certificates of participation will be provided on request after the conference (by 30 June).
Australian Visa
Antitrust Compliance Policy
  • ALTA complies with the antitrust laws of Australia. Attendees are encouraged to consult with their own corporate counsel for further guidance in complying with Australian and foreign antitrust laws and regulations.

  • Conference sessions (relevant to registration).
  • Daily catering including arrival coffee, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, satchel and attendee list.
  • Online access passwords to papers (during the conference) and electronic proceedings (after the conference by 31 July).
  • Full-Week and NCC delegates may choose between NCC sessions and ISR Symposium on Wednesday, and will receive proceedings for both.
  • UREELI/GPM delegates have the option to also register to attend the ISR Symposium at the advertised prices.
  • UREELI/GPM delegates may move freely between parallel sessions and receive proceedings for both.
  • Welcome Reception and/or Happy Hour (relevant to registration).
  • Conference dinner tickets are an an additional cost for all participants.

TMS and SAIMM Members
  • TMS and SAIMM members receive a discounted rate.
  • Membership number must be provided with registration.
Young Professional
  • Young professional registration is available to participants 32 years of age or younger.
  • Proof of age by drivers’ license or passport must be provided on request.
Sole Consultant/
Unemployed/Retired
  • Self-funded sole consultants (not subsidised), unemployed or retired industry professionals.
  • Further information may be requested.
Presenters
  • Presenters receive 50% discount for the conference sessions in which they are presenting and 30% discount for a full-week registration.
  • Only one presenter rate available per paper.
  • Presenter registrations are in the name of the presenter and are non-transferrable.
  • Presenters must register by 28 February to qualify for the discount registration.
Exhibitors and Sponsors
  • Exhibitors-sponsors must register in order to take up the associated complimentary registration.
  • Additional exhibitor-sponsor delegates receive discounted registration fees.
  • The exhibitor-sponsor delegate rate includes attendance at technical sessions, access password for online papers, electronic proceedings, daily catering, associated social function/s, satchel and attendee list. The rate excludes the conference dinner.
Booth Support Staff
  • Booth support staff must register in order to take up the associated complimentary registration (one per booth).
  • All booth support staff must register individually and wear the correct lanyard at all times.
  • Booth support staff may not register as Exhibition Visitors.
  • The rate includes daily catering, associated social function/s, satchel and attendee list.
  • The rate excludes attendance at technical sessions, access passwords to online papers, electronic proceedings and conference dinner.
Exhibition Visitors
  • Visitor registration opens March 2018.
  • The exhibition is open to visitors free of charge 9:00-11:30am and 2:00-4:30pm daily.
  • All visitors must register and wear a correct name tag.
  • Tickets may be purchased to attend lunches, cocktail functions and dinner.
Students
  • Student registration includes undergraduate and graduate students pursuing full-time studies in areas relevant to the conference.
  • Students must provide proof of their full-time status for current academic year by way of a letter from the Department Head.

  • Papers will be posted to the delegate portal during the conference.
  • Passwords will be emailed to delegates 17 May and will be activated on 19 May. Sharing passwords is prohibited.
  • Delegates may download for use during the conference.
  • Delegates may print for individual personal use only.
  • Distribution without the express written permission of ALTA is prohibited.
  • Uranium-REE-Li/Gold-PM registration includes passwords and proceedings for both sessions.
  • The final proceedings will be provided in electronic format to all registered delegates after the conference by 31 July.
  • Booth support staff and exhibition visitors do not receive passwords or proceedings.
  • Short course attendees receive hardcopy manual at during the course and ebook after the conference.

Registration

  • All cancellations must be made in writing to the Conference Secretariat and refunds, if applicable, will be issued after the conference.
  • Substitutions are welcome provided notification in writing is received.
  • Cancellations will be made subject to the following deadlines.
    Prior to 31 March: Refund less $200 administration fee.
    1 to 30 April: Refund less $500 administration fee.
    After 1 May: No refund.
Waiver of Liability
  • The program is subject to change without prior notice.
  • In the unlikely event of cancellation of the meeting, the only liability of the organiser is to refund all the monies paid.
  • ALTA Metallurgical Services accepts no liability to any persons or body for any loss, injury or damage caused.

  • Registration confirmation will be sent by email, including a download link for the invoice/receipt.  Please check the confirmation carefully and advise any modifications immediately.

How can I access discounted registration fees?

  • Present a paper and save 50%.
  • 50% discount is offered to sole consultants, unemployed and retired professionals. Further information may be requested.
  • 30% discount is offered to Young Professionals 32 years and under.
  • Register 3+ from one organisation and save 11% per person.
  • Exhibit or sponsor and receive one free registration and save 15% on additional delegates.
  • Register and pay prior to February 28 to be eligible for Early Bird rates.
  • Student registration is offered to provide students the opportunity to learn and to network with senior members of the industry. Student registration includes undergraduate and graduate students pursuing full-time studies in areas relevant to the conference. Students must provide proof of their full-time status for current academic year by way of a letter from the Department Head.

How do I pay my registration fees?

  • Secure credit card payment is available during online registration.
  • To pay by bank transfer, select the option on the payment page and an invoice including account details will be provided by email. Please quote the invoice number as a reference so we can identify your payment. Please instruct your bank to debit your account for the charges on both sides.
  • All payments must be made in Australian dollars.

What is included with my registration?

  • Technical sessions (corresponding to registration type).
  • Online access to papers during the conference and final e-proceedings book after the conference (by 31 July).
  • Uranium-REE-Lithium/Gold-PM attendees may move freely between sessions and receive passwords and proceedings for both sessions.
  • Nickel-Cobalt-Copper attendees may attend the ISR Symposium and will receive both NCC and ISR proceedings.
  • Daily arrival coffee, morning tea, buffet lunch and afternoon tea.
  • Welcome Reception and/or Happy Hour  (corresponding to registration type).
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi, satchel and sponsor gifts, and attendee list.
  • Note : Conference Dinner tickets are an an additional cost for all participants.

How do I book a hotel room?

  • Pan Pacific Perth provides the cheapest rates available for the conference dates through the official ALTA 2018 online booking site .
  • Book early to to avoid disappointment; bookings cannot be guaranteed after 4 May.
  • No pre-payment required and penalty-free cancellations are accepted until 4pm on the day of arrival.
  • Beware of unauthorised hotel solicitations. The only legitimate booking method is via the official booking portal. No third-party booking service is endorsed by or affiliated with the conference.

Will you provide catering to suit my special dietary requirements?

  • Yes! Please advise your dietary requirements during the registration process.
  • During lunches, tea breaks and cocktail functions, a separate catering station will provide special requests. During the dinner, please identify yourself to staff.
  • Most dietary requirements can be catered by Pan Pacific Perth in-house at no additional cost.
  • Kosher meals must be prepared offsite and delivered daily, and therefore will attract additional charges – a quote will be provided on request.

How do I get a copy of the proceedings?

  • Papers will be made available to attendees electronically during the conference.
  • Access passwords will be sent to delegates 16 May and activated on 19 May. Refer to the email entitled “ALTA 2018 Access to Papers”. Registration fees must be paid in order to receive passwords.  Sharing passwords is strictly prohibited.
  • Booth Support Staff do not receive the electronic papers or proceedings.
  • The final proceedings book will be provided to conference attendees by download link after the conference (by 31 July).
  • If you are unable to attend the conference but wish to purchase the proceedings, they will be are available from Publications.  Contact Allison Taylor to register your early interest.

What is the cancellation policy?

What should I do when I arrive at the venue?

  • Check in at the conference registration desk to collect your lanyard and satchel.  Note: Correct lanyards must be worn at all times.

Can I visit the exhibition if I’m not attending the conference?

  • Yes, there is free entry during visitor hours!
  • Visitor passes exclude daily lunch and networking functions (tickets may be purchased separately by contacting the Conference Secretariat).
  • Visitors may register online or onsite at the venue in exchange for a business card.
  • Exhibitor staff may not attend as free visitors.
  • Visitors will not be provided letters of invitation.

Is Wi-Fi available at the venue?

  • Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available in the conference venue for ALTA 2018 attendees. Details in your welcome pack.
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available in the hotel for in-house guests.

What is the dress code?

  • The dress code for the conference sessions and all social functions is business suit or business casual.
