Presenter Support for ALTA ConferencesGUIDELINES FOR WRITTEN PAPERS
Length of the paper: is not restricted and we invite solid technical input and detailed diagrams. Deadline for papers: Ideally we would like to receive final papers by the end of February 2012, though the end of March is still satisfactory. Earlier submission would be greatly appreciated. Late delivery of final papers: If you are unable to meet the above deadline please contact Alan Taylor to advise your projected completion date to enable us to make arrangements for its inclusion in the proceedings. The proceedings provided at the conference will be mounted in ring binders to enable the delegates to insert late papers. Format for the Papers: Please email to Alan Taylor in Word format to enable ALTA to make formatting amendments and last minute corrections and incorporate into published proceedings. Software: Microsoft Word for Office '97 or later editions. Changes to papers: If there are any changes to the paper, please send a mark-up of the original paper so that we can identify the changes and amend our master copy. GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATIONS Please prepare a 30-minute presentation including a brief Q and A time. You are not required to present your whole paper, but may simply refer to various sections during your presentation. However, all the material you are presenting should be included in the written paper, particularly tables and diagrams. Note: all screens are wide screens with 16:9 aspect ratio. Presentation options are:
Presentation Software: Microsoft Power Point for Office '97 and above. Presentation CD or Memory Stick (Flash Drive): Please a copy of your presentation on CD or flash drive to the conference for the Audio Visual Technician at the speaker's breakfast. ALTA recommends you travel one copy in your carry-on bag and a second copy in you baggage during airline flights, in case one of them os lost. Please note that you do not need to send a copy of the presentation to ALTA unless the presentation is to be included in the proceedings in place of a written paper. Speaker's Breakfast & Briefing: It is compulsory for all speakers to attend the speaker's breakfast on the morning of their session at the Burswood Convention Centre Mon-Wed at 7 am and Thu-Fri at 7.30 am. The purpose is to hand over presentations to the Audio Visual Technician, meet with the Session Chairperson, be briefed on procedures and discuss any queries. Speaker's Preparation Room: The speakers breakfast room, will also be available for you to run through your presentation and familiarize yourself with equipment.
