Presenter Support for ALTA ConferencesGUIDELINES FOR WRITTEN PAPERS Length of the paper: is not restricted and we invite solid technical input and detailed diagrams. Delivery of Papers: Please email to Alan Taylor in Word format to enable ALTA to make formatting amendments and make last minute corrections. (click to send email) email file size can often be be significantly reduced by "cutting" the picture or diagram then using the "Special Paste" function to paste in JPEG or GIF format.) Format: click to download instructions Example paper: click to download Deadline for papers: The target date for receiving final papers is the end of February 2011. However, we can accommodate through to the end of March 2011 if you need extra time. Earlier submission would be greatly appreciated. Speaker CV: Please email a brief (half page) CV or resume to Alan Taylor, to be used as an introduction to your session - click here for example CV. Late Submission of papers: If you are unable to meet the deadline please contact Alan Taylor to advise completion date to enable ALTA to make arrangements for its inclusion in the proceedings. The proceedings will be mounted in ring binders to enable the delegates to insert late papers distributed at the conference.
GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATIONS Please prepare a 30-minute presentation including a brief Q and A time. You are not required to present your whole paper, but may simply refer to various sections during your presentation. However, all the material you are presenting should be included in the written paper, particularly tables and diagrams. Presentation Software: Microsoft PowerPoint for Office '97 and above. Presentation Template: A selection of four templates have been produced as a guide for your slide layout in MS PowerPoint. Click to download the PowerPoint templates. Screen Size: Please note that a standard screen size of 12 x 9 feet will be used. Presentation CD or Memory Stick (Flash Drive): Please a copy of your presentation on CD or flash drive to the conference for the Audio Visual Technician at the speaker's breakfast. ALTA recommends you travel one copy in your carry-on bag and a second copy in you baggage during airline flights, in case one of them os lost. Please note that you do not need to send a copy of the presentation to ALTA unless the presentation is to be included in the proceedings in place of a written paper. Use of Alternative Presentation Templates: Use of alternative presentation templates is acceptable provided that the design has been proven in previous presentations and "ALTA 2011" is included on each slide. Speaker's Breakfast & Briefing: It is compulsory for all speakers to attend the speaker's breakfast on the morning of their session in "Studio Two" at the Burswood Convention Centre. The purpose is to hand over presentations to the Audio Visual Technician, meet with the Session Chairperson, be briefed on procedures and discuss any queries. Speaker's Preparation Room: The speakers breakfast room, "Studio Two" will also be available for you to run through your presentation and familiarize yourself with equipment.
