Registration
How to Register
  • Online registration is preferred and will be available until 20 May 2014.
  • After 20 May 2014, registration is via email, fax or onsite at the venue.
  • Conference registrations will be acknowledged via email within 5 working days
    of receipt of full payment. Please check the confirmation carefully and advise any
    modifications immediately.
  • Payment is required at the time of registration.
Inclusions

  • Welcome Reception and/or Happy Hour (relevant to registration option)
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Electronic proceedings and access to papers electronically during the conference

Attendance
  • All participants of the conference must be registered and are required to wear a
    correct name badge at all times.
  • Uranium-REE/Gold-Precious Metals sessions will run in parallel and delegates
    can move freely between sessions.
Letters of Invitation
  • Letters of Invitation to support Visa applications can be provided on request.
  • Registration fees must be paid in full before letters will be issued - no exceptions.

  • Applies to three or more delegates from the same organisation.
Member Registration
  • TMS, CIM, MetSoc and SAIMM are Co-Sponsors of ALTA 2014 and members are offered a discount fee.
  • Membership number must be included with registration.
Presenter Registration
  • Presenters receive 50% discount on Registration Fees for the event in which they are presenting.
  • Presenters may attend the full week conference and will receive a 30% discount off standard fees.

  • The discount rate applies to one Presenter per paper – any additional Presenters must register at the standard rate.
  • Presenters must register via the links on the Presenter page.
Exhibitor/Sponsor Registration
  • Exhibitors and Sponsors must register using the Exhibitor/Sponsor online link or form in order to take up the associated complimentary registration.
  • Exhibition Support Staff must register individually indicating the day/s of attendance. The rate includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and the associated networking function but excludes technical proceedings and satchel.
*Student Registration
  • Student registration includes undergraduate and graduate students pursuing full-time studies in areas relevant to the conference.
  • Students must provide proof of their full-time status for current academic year by way of a letter from the Department Head.

Cancellations
 
Accommodation Cancellations
  • Reservation cancellations will be accepted up until 24 hours prior to the arrival date without incurring a cancellation fee.
  • Any cancellations after this time or No-Shows will be charged at 100% of the total accommodation charges.
Registration Cancellations

  • All cancellations must be made in writing to the Conference Secretariat .
  • Substitutions are welcome provided notification in writing is received.
  • Refunds, if applicable, will be issued after the Conference.
  • Cancellations will be made subject to the following deadlines.
    • Prior to 31 March 2014: Full refund less $200 administration fee.
    • 1 to 30 April 2014: Full refund less $500 administration fee.
    • After 1 May 2014: No refund
Waiver of Liability
  • The program is subject to change without prior notice.
  • In the unlikely event of cancellation of the meeting, the only liability of the organiser is to refund all the monies paid.
  • ALTA Metallurgical Services accepts no liability to any persons or body for any loss, injury or damage caused.

Proceedings
  • The proceedings will be distributed in electronic format only.
  • Papers will be posted to the Delegate Portal on the website during the conference.
  • Delegates may download to mobile devices or laptops for use during the conference.
  • Delegates may print for individual personal use only. Distribution without the express permission of ALTA is prohibited.
  • Passwords will be emailed to delegates 20-22 May and will be activated on 24 May.
  • The final proceedings will be provided electronically to all delegates after the conference, by 31 July 2014.
  • Uranium-REE/Gold-Precious Metals registration includes proceedings for both sessions.
  • Exhibition Support Staff and Exhibition Visitors do not receive proceedings.
  • Short course participants are provided a hardcopy manual at the conference and an electronic copy after the conference.

Reservations
  • We recommend booking early to secure a room - availability cannot be guaranteed for bookings received after 10 May 2014.
  • Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST).
  • Prices are per room per night including hotel wireless internet access. Breakfast is not included unless specified.
  • Credit card is required to secure reservation. Credit card details will be forwarded to the hotel to secure the booking only and no monies will be deducted by the Conference Secretariat. The hotel may choose to debit your card immediately or wait until check-in.
